A PSYCHOLOGICAL assessment is needed of people in order to understand why Trinidadians are joining ISIS.
So said UWI sociologist and former president general of the Trinidad Muslim League Dr Nasser Mustapha after hearing that nine Trinidadians were detained by Turkish officials last week who were allegedly trying to travel to Syria to join Da’esh.
Mustapha said that people wanting to join the militant group in Syria are misguided and the cause they claim to be fighting for was against the teachings of Islam.
